CANCELLED The Last Taboo? -- Conversations on Death & Dying CANCELLED

Saturday 3rd June, Gravesend and Sittingbourne

A 2.5hr course all about death and dying, developed by Methodist Homes for the Aged, and suitable for people of all faith and no faith.

Everyone will die. But how do we help people to think about, and plan for, their death? This practical course will help you grow in confidence around talking with people at all ages about death and dying.

  • Whytalking about death is important
  • Howdying changes our sense of self and spirituality
  • Medical and legal terms like DNA, ADRT and Lasting Power of Attorney
  • Four things we need to say to one another as someone dies

Please note: it is necessary to book in advance.

Who should come to this training?

Anyone can benefit from attending this training, and it's suitable for people of all faiths and none, but we think the following groups will find this course useful:

  • Ministers
  • Lay Employees
  • Chaplains
  • Local Preachers / Worship Leaders
  • Care home workers (any and all – even the gardener can have conversations with residents about death etc.)
  • Supported living staff
  • Nurses / doctors in your congregation
  • Paid or unpaid carers of folks living in family homes etc.

Course Structure

This is a 2.5hr face-to-face course. There is no pre-course reading or preparation.
