During this time of no gatherings and self-isolation we are going to explore new ways of being the Church, keeping in contact and serving the community. As for our congregation in Newington the following list are the basic areas we will be observing. This is not an exhaustive list and I am sure there will be lots of new activities. Of course internet and social media will play an important role but we have to make sure they are not the only platforms and that we remember all other ways of communication.
Our primary source of communication as a Church will be at our Newington www https://www.nkmethodists.org.uk/churches/medway-swale/newington.html and printed notices delivered to our homes on request.
Other important portal for information, from the circuit is: www.nkmethodists.org.uk and the North Kent Methodist Facebook page.
The Methodist Church in the centre of Newington village, at 1 Church Lane, offers a traditional worship service open to all at 9.30 am every Sunday. Many of our services are led by local lay preachers. Holy Communion is celebrated when our minister is leading worship.
For a number of years, we have been building a stronger relationship between the Methodist congregation and The Six, in particular St Mary's, Newington. Joint services are held on a regular basis and the church office for The Six is located in the Methodist church building. We look forward to doing more together in God's service.
If you would like to contact Newington Methodist Church, including for enquiries about services or hiring the building for regular meetings or one-off events, our email address is: newingtonmethodistchurch@hotmail.co.uk
