Latin for shadows or darkness, Tenebrae has an ancient tradition in Christian History.
Distinctive for its gradual extinguishing of candles, the service, celebrated in Holy Week, remembers the sombre events that occurred in Jesus' life from the exuberant entrance into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday through to the night of Jesus' burial on Good Friday
