This will be a very exciting and busy year for Hartlip Methodist Chapel, as we celebrate our 200th Anniversary. From the beginning, through the last 200 years in Hartlip, God has truly blessed us and so it is good to look back and give thanks to God for all the work He has done through the ministry and witness of each generation, young and old!
But just as it is a time for reflecting on the past, it is also a time for looking toward the future with renewed vision and commitment.
To help us celebrate our Anniversary and enrich our worship, we have invited a variety of significant preachers, who are connected to the life of this church and the Methodist connexion as a whole. Dates and details are in the letter available as a download on the right of this page.
Our Anniversary Weekend 13th-15th June 2020
Celebrations begin on Saturday 13th when the chapel and retreat centre will be hosting a community open day. We would love lots of people from the Hartlip Community and North Kent Circuit to join us in celebrating our Anniversary.
On the Anniversary Sunday we will begin with a tea at 4.30pm followed by the Anniversary service at 6.30pm, when the Rev Michaela Youngson, Ex-President of the Methodist Conference will lead worship and dedicate our new stained-glass window in the Porch.
The celebration continues on Monday 15th when we will be inviting Hartlip Endowed Primary School to the church to celebrate the history and ministry of the chapel. We are delighted that this event will include a very special guest.
It is our Prayer and Hope that you are able to join us at as many of the different services and events, as we gather together to praise God for the life and ministry of this chapel.
