Calais update – please donate
Many folk in the circuit contributed clothes and tents a while ago for the people living in what has become known as The Jungle in Calais. You can keep in touch with events in Calais via several websites and one of the most comprehensive is http://www.calaidipedia.co.uk/Here there are links to other sites and organisations.
Currently many volunteers are busy moving shelters and tents and caravans before part of the camp is bulldozed. One of the current needs is for non perishable food.
There is a request for the following items. Christine Adams is arranging to take as much of the following items as we can collect by Saturday 23rd January, to a volunteer travelling to Calais at the end of January. If you are able to contribute any of the following please either drop them off at 45 Garner Drive ME19 6NF or call 01732871436 . No donations of these items will be accepted after Saturday 23rd January. Thank you.
